Still not completely satiated after LA? Wanting a little more out of Detroit and Chicago? Couldn’t make the trip over to Switzerland for Geneva? Your wait is almost over. The 2014 New York Auto Show opens on April 16, just a little over three weeks from now. One of the first automakers to show off its April goodies is BMW, which will be making quite a powerful appearance at the show. Let’s take a closer look.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe
Drivers will have to choose between two TwinPower Turbo engines for the X4 coupe: xDrive28i (powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder) or xDrive35i (powered by a 3.0-liter inline six). Each engine is paired with an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission with shift paddles.
New York marks the world debut for the X4 Sports Activity Coupe.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: 2015 ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe
As we reported earlier this month, BMW will be unveiling the all-new 2015 BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe in New York next month for its North American debut. The Gran Coupe will go on sale immediately after.
Under the hood lurks a 4.4-liter ALPINA Bi-Turbo V8 engine, capable of 540 hp and 540 lb-ft of torque. The ALPINA B6 launches to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe
Making its North American debut, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe boasts the sleek sportiness of a coupe mixed with the practicality of a four-door sedan, with a flexible luggage department. The Gran Coupe will reach American shores this summer.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle
This SAV will be appearing in North America for the first time and will add BMW Advanced Diesel power in the X3 xDrive28d. It also marks the first time that a rear-wheel-drive BMW X3 sDrive28i will be offered in the United States.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: BMW Concept X5 eDrive
BMW reports that this is the first time that eDrive and its intelligent all-wheel-drive system have been married in one vehicle. Fuel efficiency is unrivaled in its class, as it delivers “less than 74.3 mpg in the EU test cycle.”
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: BMW i3
The beloved i3 will be drivable (or ride-able, technically) in New York. Guests can take ride-alongs at the EV Pavilion during the show.
BMW at the New York Auto Show 2014: RUMORED BMW M4 Convertible
We’ve already seen the BMW M4 Coupe in the auto show circuit, but rumor has it that its convertible sibling may make a debut, although BMW’s official press release made no mention of it.
